I thought he wrapped it up quite neatly in this last installment of the cycle. There were bits that made me laugh out loud. The style is consistent with the previous three books, which didn't bother me. I did wish there was a bit more explanation when he referred to things that had happened in previous books (such as the prophecy), since it's been so long I couldn't quite remember the details of what happened. However, he did a relatively good job making this book strong enough to stand on its own.

this was a good conclusion to the series. the author wrapped everything up and not quickly so you didn't have that wow that was a quick fix ending. Yet it still left you wishing

I can’t believe that I’ve now finished the whole series. Ending the book made it feel like I’ve lost a friend who I’ve known for years (it took me years to finish the whole series) and I was really sad when closing the book. Sure I could read it again but it won’t be the same. Farewell Eragon Shadeslayer. I hope to read of his adventures in more books but it doesn’t sound like it sadly.

Re read from childhood.
Cons: this one is so ridiculously slow. It is incredibly repetitive. Roran veers into misogyny and unrealistic superhero quality while Katrina relegates herself to unimportant. Nasuada remains strong but is side lined for Roran's POV. Arya's ending is super predictable. Galbatorix is killed by understanding.
Pros: Queen Nasuada. The eggs. Murtagh's growth. Eragon leaves to be a teacher.
