Feel how a damaged relationship can take it's first steps toward healing.
WHAT I LIKED
------------------------
* Investment in emotions of both characters - Both of these women have hurt each other, one more severely than the other. It would be easy to side with the one betrayed most severely, but the author does a great job of drawing the reader into the complex set of emotions of both women.
* Love in the hurt - It can be hard to understand how people who have hurt each other so deeply can still love each other. I can be even harder to understand the pain in that love. If this concept is hard to get your head around, this book might open your eyes to a greater understanding of that tangled mess that happens to many people.
WHAT I WISH WAS DIFFERENT
------------------------------------------------
* More sex, less fade to black - this author has a light touch to sex scenes, even when she includes them. I often find her books full of tease with little release for the reader. Hot, hot, hot, hot, hot, ---- and then it's the next day, and the sex happened, but the reader didn't get any. I like my romance more explicit, though Mistress gives you a lot of room to fantasize about what *might* have happened behind the metaphorical "closed doors". This didn't impact my star rating at all, as it's a personal preference and not a comment on the quality of the story *at all*.
The growth of the relationship in this book touched me, and I look forward to seeing what's next for these women. I believe more healing remains in their future, as there were some portions of their betrayals that they didn't deal with head-on. I want to be with them as their journey continues, if at all possible.

The blurb made me curious, but despite the rather good writing, I didn’t like this story. The chemistry between Graciela and Trinity was practically non-existent, and their whole relationship felt almost clinical. Way more telling than showing here. Trinity was immature, irrational and ungrateful, and didn’t know what she wanted. Imagining her as a Domme raised my hackles! I can’t imagine what Gracie ever saw in her and what made her take Trinity back…

I would personally suggest reading Mira's Desire to better understand the situation. I needed more information on what had transpired to fully understand this story.
For such a short story, this truly packs a punch. I truly felt for Trinity's situation and suffered along with her. I also understood Graciela and her hesitations. The time skips were well placed and well chosesn to highlight the perfect moments to understand them better.
I simply wished for more explanation on the inciting incident since it is vital to the story.
