Read for Book Roast's Magical Readathon: NEWTs Exams. Subject: Astronomy, A Level. (Moon on the cover)

Look, I am running out of time, and I am not here to be judged for my readathon choices.

Plus this book never stops being funny. No regrets.

Went on a little long, but still managed to be pretty funny. Would probably be funnier if I had kids. I'd definitely would give it as a present for a new parent. The art is pretty nice as well.

This was the 1st book I remember using an audiobook and actually enjoying the narration enough to use them going forward

I have just one comment about this masterpiece: let's all co-credit illustrator Ricardo Cortés for the book's success. Although Mansbach originated the imagery, Cortés vivified it, depicting energetic young'uns crusading through peaceful bedtime-story scenes of restful beasts and setting suns. The genre punchline depends on the art as much as the rhymes.

Made us laugh out loud while trying not to wake the sleeping baby in the crib next to us!

The eagles who soar through the sky are at rest
And the creatures who crawl, run, and creep.
I know you’re not thirsty. That’s bullshit. Stop lying.
Lie the fuck down, my darling, and sleep.

Funny bedtime story!

Fun and oh so true

I love this book! It’s so funny to us parents because I’m sure we’ve all been there. So relatable. I definitely recommend every new parent read it at least once to at least remember that you’re not alone.

I thought this book was funny and aptly captured what parents experience putting kids to bed.

Not a bedtime book for the kids, but a great one for the adults! =)
