I enjoyed the scavenger hunt and the romance. Getting to know the characters was nice. Overall I just felt like it was missing something.

I liked this book very much, it was a fun read and a great fast pace book. At first I couldn’t say I liked it since I didn’t relate to the main character a lot and found her annoying, but as the story progressed I enjoyed it and felt repeated to Luke’s character. Overall it was a great book and a fun read.

Super cute YA romance that takes place in England. I've never been very interested in traveling over there (I don't do well in gloomy climates) but this book actually made me a bit curious. I liked Britt's enthusiasm and heart, even though I didn't relate to her well - she's very much the opposite to me personability-wise. And Luke was sweet, if a bit bland. They had good chemistry together though I never quite understood what they saw in each other. Oh - for not paying attention in English class, I thought Britt remembered an awful lot of details from the books she was investigating. ;-) I didn't really understand why she needed a "babysitter" either or needed to check in with her mother daily. She's 18 and graduated high school - she's not a child, she's a young adult. But story-wise, it was good she had someone there to interact with and guide her.
Spoiler
For a long time, I thought a big reveal was going to be Britt realizing she'd been a bit of an unknowing bully to her classmates. Not just the book-reading incident, but the way she harassed her former best-friend when they were kids.nahyee's review against another edition

One of my daughters read and recommended this, and I am a sucker for anything that incorporates classic British lit. It was predictable and has a very YA romancey plot, but I felt this book had more substance (you've got to make it to the end for that). As an avid reader, English teacher and librarian, I cannot gush enough about how the whole plot is driven by what a reader can learn about herself from reading a book.
