I found it boring. The premise sounded promising—a man collecting lost objects and trying to reunite them with their owners—but the execution fell flat for me.

I never really connected with the characters. The dual storylines didn’t always feel necessary, and at times, it felt like I was just waiting for something interesting to happen.

I was expecting a syrup-sweet easy read, and had most boxes ticked quite early and was a bit hesitant in continuing. I'm glad that I did, because although the book was predictable, it had some darker elements. A very nice surprise was the absence of the "children as happy ending" plot device (nothing wrong with it, but it was refreshing to see several child-free characters without making a point out of it). The story itself was engaging enough and I liked the characters. It's not a book I'll remember or get back to, but I spent some happy hours reading it and I'll check out the other books by this author. She seems interesting!
