Adorable story that would make a nice quick read but could turn into longer with the detailed pictures. I love this artwork as it sort of reminds me of the color palette of The Teacher from the Black Lagoon. I will have to seek out other books illustrated by Benjamin Chaud!

I can see making a class book at the beginning of the school year that looks just like this. I think this would lend itself to a great discussion of classroom expectations.

The many clever excuses a young student may offer for not completing an assignment. Fun illustrations that remind me of artwork from a bygone era. Chronicle Books always offer fun and imaginative titles.

A super cute book with illustrations reminiscent of Edward Gorey!! It was very clever as well, especially at the end.
