I understand why there is not much love for this book after Heartless, but I still enjoyed it as I pretended this was a whole new book series lol. I really love the aspect of small town and hockey romance. This one had so much in it with the storyline. I really enjoyed the back story of these two characters, and so glad things happened the way they happened. I really enjoy these characters as well. The plot was good and the storyline. I was rooting so much for their happiness in general life, along with love life. It was very cute how things restarted with the beginning of the book.
Would I recommend? Yes, I think this is so enjoyable if you forget about heartless a little bit and not compare.

This book was enjoyable with Jasper’s protective streak and Sloane’s bottled up emotions. These two both had some stuff to work through so you could see their characters grow throughout the book.
Jasper plays ice hockey professionally however this was not the main plot line in the story and hockey was not mentioned too often. I don’t describe this as an ice hockey romance because of this but some people would.
I loved the small town vibes and the found family that this book brought. The cameos from charters form previous books and series brought this together. Overall was an enjoyable book.

3.75 I rlly loved this book. I’ll always be a sucker for an Elsie silver book. Friend to lovers isn’t my favorite trope, but I still think this book was a fun time. A little slow at times, but I loved how the third act breakup wasn’t drawn out and I don’t even know if you can consider it a break up.
