Loved this beautiful little book about a contemporary Orthodox Jewish girl living with loss and learning, like all girls, how to navigate growing up. Rife with reasons to teach it, I want to share this with all young people, as it was simultaneously heart-warming, spiritual, and culturally nourishing. It is a story I’ll remember.

Beautiful, quick, sad but uplifting YA book. I loved it.

This book was not what I was expecting but it was an intriguing story. It took me a minute to get my bearings and figure out what was going on because I’m not versed in Jewish terms and vocabulary. This book was a heartbreaking but beautiful look at processing trauma.

Solid middle grade with a bit of mystery. I don't run across many children's books set in modern Orthodox Jewish households, so this was a nice change of pace. There's a glossary at the back for anyone who might need to brush up on some terms.
