I'm usually more able to figure out her short stories, and this was no exception. T&T aren't my favorites; they are a bit to scattered and unobservant - they're like real people, sure, but that's not why I read detective fiction. The most interesting part of the book to me was the reference to different detectives.

Love Tommy and Tuppence and their silly little adventures. Delightful

Not her best work but super entertaining! I loved it!

Normally not a fan of short stories but the brilliance of Agatha outweighs the limitations of the short story format. Love Tommy & Tuppence and their relationship. Albert their office boy is also great.

I enjoyed all the references to other famous fictional detectives, including her own Hercule Poirot. Sadly, I only recognized a few of the detectives - Sherlock Holmes(of course, who wouldn't recognize that one) and Father Brown and Dr Thorndyke. The others I need to go research and see if they are worth reading or if there is a reason they are no longer known. Made me wonder what current detective series will be read & recognized a hundred years from now.

3,5 stars rounded up to 4.
The mysteries were above average for short stories but I loved the general wit, the characters and the writing style.

One of Christie's best!

I enjoyed this book for its old fashioned language. I only discovered this series of books from Agatha Christie from the BBC series and was surprised with two of the books from my daughter for Christmas. It was a real treat and a welcome change a heavy book I was reading at the time by Asne Seierstad 'One of Us'
