mysterious fast-paced

I really loved that this was a serialized detective novel, with each chapter or two being a new mystery. I also loved the banter between the two main characters and the kind of light and fun nature of the book. However, at times the viewpoint on women can be hard to stomach and also there is an instance of identifying a man as "a jew" because he is rich, which I really can't stomach. There is only so far I can warrant that "product of their time" shit.

More of a series of short stories than a novel, so it was a bit uneven. Some of the mysteries were quite clever, however. I find Tommy and Tuppence really fun as partners and characters, although they're not quite as adorable here as they were in the first book.

There's an awful lot of detective name-dropping in this book (reminds me a little of Connie Willis actually) and I don't even think I knew half of them, so some of the references went over my head.
