This is a book I've read a few times now. Shocking since it was written by the same person that did Twilight. However, it is a wonderful read. Sci-fy future where aliens have invaded, but a few rogue humans still exist. This leads to a wonderful adventure story filled with empathy and love. The characters are relatable and lovable. I will definitely read this one again.

This is not, in any form, a 5-star book.
For many, there is much to be desired in terms of characters, plot, writing style, and flow.
But this is a 5-star book to me. This is my comfort book. This is the steady book on my shelf that I pull out when I can't fathom reading anything else. When I've been away from reading so long it doesn't even seem worth it. This is my shining beacon calling me back. It scratches every itch for me: it has plenty of scifi, while remaining much in our easy to connect to modern world. It's got every type of relationship growth you could have: self, friendship, family, enemies, lovers, society. It has survival elements. It has sadness. It has hope. And plenty of growth for all characters. It just makes me happy.

The last 20 pages ruins the ending for me. Ending with her sacrifice would have been perfect instead of forcing a happy ending where it doesn't fit

I don't recommend this book, but I'm not sorry that I read it. Besides being way too long and Twilight-style overemotional, it was an interesting plot. I'm looking forward to seeing the move adaptation!

From what I remember of the movie, I'd say that the movie was pretty true to the book.

*some spoilers*
The good parts of this book were really good, but the style of writing and the character's love story did remind me a lot of Twilight, which I do not like. Although I did grow very attached to The Wanderer, as annoying as she could be. The ending was good; the spark of hope that the human race would continue on. One last complaint with the book is that I felt a lot of writing could have been cut out. Overall, I did enjoy the book a lot. It reeled me in, so that I kept on reading without realizing how much time had passed. Good job Stephenie Meyer. :)

At first, I thought it was weird but then I started enjoying it a lot! It was wonderful, imaginative, emotional and very very interesting.
