Liked the beginning. Liked the middle. But the ending was lacking that special spark.

Love Baby Owl. Not so much this particular tale, though.

I sometimes feel this way. All you want to do is sit down and read a book. Then you have all these distractions. Poor little Baby Owl, that's all he wanted too. But it all turns out well in the end.

This one might make a good read aloud. Need to test it out.

Adorable pictures with cute, fluffy chicks and an endearing Baby Owl. A great story about getting excited - and overexcited - about reading. For reading aloud, the story could really stop when Baby Owl finally gets to read his story. The extra scene at bedtime could be cut out to shorten up the read-aloud.

Baby Owl has decided to read a story to his stuffed friend, Owly. However, he does not make it past opening the book before Tiny Chick arrives and wants to join the fun. Baby Owl has no issue with this, as long as Tiny Chick can sit quietly. A small reading group can work well, but when things get out of hand and Tiny Chick’s friend and family arrive, Baby Owl cannot handle the situation. It is only after an adult intervention that things settle down, if only temporarily. Neo enjoyed this book, an eye-catcher from the library. Perhaps we will find more of these while we are on holiday, though he is not without a pile of books or playing ideas to keep him occupied.
