All My Rage by Sabaa Tahir

This is the best YA I've read in a long time and my first time reading Tahir. The humanity Tahir is able to capture is penetrating. I was engrossed by these young characters and their struggles in this broken world -- our very real and broken world. This is so timely (and timeless) in capturing the trauma/rage/grief/injustice of this moment.

Absolutely adored the 3 main characters of this book and couldn’t put it down! Definitely could use a reread as I probably went a little too fast because I was anxious to see what happened. The relationships in this book are so delicate and real, and characters are given space to make mistakes and love so deeply at the same time. The core relationship is just so sweet - something always gets me about people finding comfort and love in each other when it feels like the world is against them. The metaphor comparing them to little birds carefully moving around each other particularly moved me. Overall enjoyed the involvement of music as well as the cultural narrative, and each of the characters separate relationships to faith! Really beautiful and will be thinking about it for a while

Once I had some time to sit down and dive into this book, I couldn't put it down. Heartbreakingly beautiful picture of friendship, family, faith and forgiveness and the pain we all experience along the way.
