Finished this last night. My mind is cleared now i can talk about it. Jameson was such well written character, so much cunning wit and charisma. That man was multidementional and he's Bisexual and Black. I really appreciated his vulnerable side. He wasn't perfect. I think when i came to communication he still has work to do, but my God. I will continue with the series based on the way the author writes her characters alone , and the DRAMA, the longing, the tension.

Mkenzie was such a sweet, sensual character who was so in touch with her sexuality and her needs. I loved her clapbacks, i live for them. There is something so unique about the way sex and sexuality is talked about in this book. As a Black person who has struggled with the embodying these things, i was so relieved to find a fresh new perspective on how Black folks can be with one another in the sheets. There was no shame around the things they liked, who they were, there was consent, frequent checkins.

There was no shame around talking about Black boys experimenting with each other at a young age. That meant a lot.

I enjoyed the pacing quite a bit. I find that the author managed her subplots quite well while also keeping us Fully invested in the romance. That was one of the things i find remarkable actually. I was never bored, every chapter was a page turner, i wanted to know more. At times the moments were so intense i had to stop and catch my breath.

Karmen Lee did it again!

I enjoyed seeing the tension between Jameson and McKenzie. Both of the characters felt well rounded and impressively fleshed out. From the first page, I myself relating to the heroine. The story is slow paced at the start, which made it a little difficult for me to maintain focus. I’m glad I kept reading because it was worth it. Recommend to readers who prefer more fleshed out characters in their romance.
