My kids ADORE this series (ages 7 and 9) so I've bumped up my rating a full star to reflect their passion. I read this at their urging and it's written at a perfect older elementary level. For me, it was a bit predictable and slower paced. But for the intended audience it is gold. My 7 year old listened/read at the same time to help her with some of the larger, more complex words but the ideas and plot were perfect for her.

I enjoyed reading this book. There were a few things that surprised me and made me question if I would want a 10year old to read. It is probably just because I am an adult and more aware of things a 10year old wouldn't be.
With that in mind, I thought it well written and it was a fun adventure story to read.

The Dragonet Prophecy is a fun MG read for kids who like fantasy, dragons, and battles. My daughter (age 8) liked the graphic novel version, but the regular novel was too long and complex for her. We will revisit later when she’s older. It feels more suitable for children ages 10+.
Moderate: Death
There are a few detailed dragon deaths that may bother a sensitive child.
