Hidden darkness and secrets
That was a twist I wasn’t expecting and also shows the dangers of the crusades that can come but also have been. The darkness that befalls if you focus on power rather than the truth of the teachings. Ok maybe I am reading a little too much into this but it is an amazing story that I am highly enjoying tormenting myself with.
