Wow. Just wow. How to process this book....

What I love about this book is that the characters are complex. Aya is the "Saint" yet she feels anger, she has darkness within her. She's fiercely loyal to those she loves and has this skepticism that leads her down various roads.

This book started to give me Sarah J Maas vibes (in a good way). Not in the plot or having similar worlds, but with the complex characters and so many plot twists, especially within the last 100 pages.

This book ends on a cliffhanger and I seriously cannot wait for the next book to come out. Like I need to know what happens next!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Highly recommend for fans of Sarah J Maas. There is spice in this book, but it is the perfect amount.

Curse of Sins is the second book in a trilogy. Very much like the first book, not much happens until about the 60% mark. There is a classic misunderstanding trope plus the continued search for "the supplier" that has been missing since the opening scene of Curse of Saints. I don't really understand why Will and Aya would even have returned home knowing the queen was not as just a ruler as she pretended to be.
I'll admit, I did not see the twist coming at the end of this one. It was an impressive ending that left me intrigued enough to potentially stick with this series.

While still good, this book (#2 Curse of Sins) didn’t live up to the last (#1 Curse of Saints) for me. There were some editing things that were rough and pulled me out of the story (examples: typo p.171 “The girl still refuses to let me her study her”, a character <Aidon> standing when they never sat p.175-178, & redundant repetition). I also felt myself questioning the believability of the main character’s traits, specifically their “darkness”… like they’re supposedly burn the world for each other, but really it seems more like, “I’d only burn the really bad guys for you” (Aya more so than Will, but still). There is a cliff hanger ending with some twists on who’s the villain.

Also I’m exceptionally displeased the author put Tova through all that, and hinted at a relationship with Aidon only to have her die that way. I will probably still read book 3, but somewhat begrudgingly and with lowered expectations.

well damn... that's way to end it... CLIFFHANGER ENDING... you've been warned lol

Overall, this was a good 2nd installment in this series, but the pacing was not great for me. The first 20% and last 25% were awesome, but the middle reallyyyy dragged. But damn that ending had a lot of shocking elements that had me shouting "NO" outloud! Def going to continue on in the series because I am INVESTED in Will and Aiya, and I love this friend group so much.

This book had me angry, then chuckling, crying, then in love. I loved the first book, I loved this book and I am excited about the third. Tyr had my heart breaking! Also how dare you Kate Dramis! I was excited about a relationship between Aidon and Tova! 😭😭 How dare you!
