I enjoyed parts of this book, but ultimately found myself getting tired of reading about fox trauma. I tried to read aloud to my 8 and 10 year olds but they thought it was too dark.
When my seven year old tore through this book in a day, I knew I had to read it. I had originally recommended this book to her because I thought it was a collection of short stories, but was pleasantly surprised at the framing device. I loved that the book was scary and full of gore, but still in a kid-appropriate way. I also liked the language used when seeing the world through the eyes of the foxes.

The chapters with the author/artist were a really nice twist. I didn't see that coming at all and loved it!

This was very enjoyable. I loved the characters, and the riffs on horror tropes. (Zombies, witch, ghost) It was suspenseful and the story-telling was great. The illustrations and black pages added to the atmosphere. I also liked the structure of the separate stories.

This was a greag book! I will be thinking about it for years to come i can tell. And it had exactly the right kind of ending for a horror book imo.
