I absolutely love the Dark Olympus series and this book is no exception! We start with Cassandra who is the executive assistant to Apollo. She is a curvy sassy woman who takes no shit from anyone, especially not Apollo. She has had to grow up fast in a city that has shunned her and her sister because of a failed assassination attempt that resulted in the death of their parents. Enter Apollo who is uncommonly kind and fair for a member of The Thirteen and keeps chipping away at Cassandra’s icy exterior.

They have both been circling each other for years while working together but Apollo knows Cassandra’s opinion of The Thirteen and that she plans on leaving Olympus as soon as possible. Cassandra has been fighting against her attraction to Apollo even though he has treated her with respect and kindness he is still one of The Thirteen. All of their feelings are brought to the surface when Zeus demands Apollo and Cassandra’s presence at Minos’ party to gather information on him and his intentions.

If Cassandra is successful Zeus promises enough money for her to leave Olympus and start a new life, much to Apollo’s chagrin. Thus begins a party of danger and mystery where both Apollo and Cassandra need to keep their heads which is becoming increasingly difficult since they are supposed to be dating but are also fighting their true attraction to each other.

I really enjoyed this book and I really would have liked if Cassandra had considered her sisters feeling and realized that she was an adult and could handle herself but I understand that is also a part of her arc. And as a big sister myself who is protective of their own little sister, I get it. But like maybe more communication between the sisters. All in all I loved it and can’t wait to read Cruel Seduction.

As always the smut is fantastic, and while I look forward to seeing how the author ties all these storylines together, the plot and execution of it is subpar. A little too “mustache twirling villain” vibes for me. Also I’m not *complaining* complaining, but is every single female character this author writes bi and curvy? Lazy character development lol

A pretty standard next instalment of the Dark Olympus series! It was a super quick and fun read with, of course, very spicy moments, of which Katee Robert is queen! I was actually surprised by some plot points and enjoyed the locked-house style mystery.

I liked that this book delved more into the lore and history of Olympus which I felt was missing in the first two books, and you could definitely see how she was setting the stage for the next books to develop. Unfortunately I think the characterization suffered because of this and I didn’t feel particularly strongly about either Apollo or Cassandra, but I still was rooting for them to end up together!

This book had an entirely different feel than the first three. Lots of hidden agendas and twists. I can tell that Katee Robert is setting up for some major projects later down the road!

I really enjoyed this book, as with every other book in this series so far! There's a plot point about the ending bothering me, that at first I was going to talk more about, but then I realized maybe I'm just assuming it would go a different way than it will. So it bothers me less now (but just in case anyone else was thinking about it I'll still put it in spoiler tags at the bottom haha). Anyway, I really liked this book! I hope she keeps writing this series for sure, as I always look forward to them.

Spoilers for the ending ahead!!
Okay I'm just like. If Cassandra is the witness at the end won't that cause issues since that's why everyone hates her family?? Like that feels like a big deal for her to be the witness that causes him to take the title. I was waiting for that shoe to drop, like, since half the reason she didn't want to stay in Olympus/with Apollo is that she hates the games the thirteen play, all the attention on them, etc. I thought it would be a source of tension at the end that there would be more attention on her, etc. And maybe it's just that no one will know she was the witness except the thirteen, and they don't care?? Idk. I just felt like that bit was unresolved. Even if there was a throwaway line addressing how that went I would have been satisfied. But anyway maybe it just wouldn't play out like I was imagining it so this doesn't bother me as much as it did right when I was finishing the book. But if anyone else was thinking this too please dm me or something (@skylerwitherspoon on IG or @skudiklier on Twitter lmao) I don't know anyone else who's read this book.
