The Jesus Storybook Bible Gift Edition: Every Story Whispers His Name

Every story whispers His name, indeed. What a beautiful way to show children that the plan to conquer death and sadness was part of the arc all along. Jesus was there through every bit of it, with God since before creation, loving us.
I fully believe that every adult should read a children’s Bible at some point, just to remind themselves of how they are supposed to be. “Let the little children come to me.”
And the illustrations are beautiful. I want to frame them all.

A wonderful Bible adaptation for children of all ages. We have been reading this version to my preschooler for a few years, and I purchase it for all the children in our house church family when their parents become covenant partners. I love the illustrations, especially that the majority of images are non-white people. Key stories were chosen to display who God is and how He loves us. Definitely the book to purchase for the children in your life!
This is one of the best children's Bibles I've ever seen. My kids and I have read it and re-read it during Advent and Lent for a couple of years now. There's also an audio version on CD that is wonderfully done. Enjoy!
I'm the illustrator of this book, if you like the pictures have a look here for more of my work:

Stunning children's bible. Every story linking to Jesus. Inspired. Great for use in 'all age' church services too.
If you're looking for a Bible story book that works from the concept of how all the stories in the Bible are about God's LOVE for people, then this is the book for you! Each story gets tied back to Jesus in some way and is written like literature and not like most kiddy-books. We've definitely been enjoying reading stories out of this book as it really does take a lot of the fear out of the stories and saturates them all with love.
Some of the stories are done well, but I'm not thrilled with some of the theology, and it does a disservice to the Hebrew Scriptures to frame literally every story as pointing to Jesus. They are actually sacred texts that stand in their own faith context. But anyway.
Stylistically, the over capitalization and run-on sentences bothered me greatly, as well as the narrator who sporadically appears with first-person pronouns. Who is "I"?? So random.

I’ve read the Bible for most of my life, but this little book helped me to grasp the “big picture” of God’s plan to redeem us, motivated by His great love. Reading it in a short span of time concentrated its impact on my heart. While there are a few word choices I might not have chosen, and certainly some “artistic license,” (probably necessary in a children’s book), the overall impact of this book is profound. It’s a great read for those who want to understand God better, of any age.
My almost 4 year old and I have been reading this little bible, and while i think its mostly over her head, she gets some of the main principles of the stories and she loves to sit and listen. She is upset if we miss a night! I feel its been beneficial to me too, as I love the connections she makes between the stories of the Bible and the over all story of God's plan of love for us. Great little storybook Bible, definitely the best that we own, and I highly recommend it!
