It's hard for me to find children's versions of scripture that I actually like, but we all really loved this one. The illustrations made me want to linger a little longer on each page. The stories were well chosen and well written with the focus always on Jesus and his personal love for the reader. It kept the spirituality of the scripture while making it more accessible to children. I liked reading the stories first from here and then from the Bible to help with comprehension. That way, the kids were already familiar with the basic storyline so we could focus more on the beautiful language of the Bible and the deeper meaning of the passages we read.

Overall a brilliant kids Bible, with lovely illustrations and an emphasis on showing how all the stories whisper the name of Jesus and point to Him, particularly throughout the Old Testament. The reason this didn’t get 5 stars from me though is that I wish the author didn’t make stuff up so much though as my children take it all as fact and when they read their real Bible may wonder where some details have gone. Things like “three wise men” - with theological accuracy in so many other ways, it baffles me that this is included.

I’d also recommend the audio version - we listen to it a lot in the car and it really helps to solidify the word of God in my heart and my kids’ hearts as we travel about!

I enjoyed going through this with my baby and look forward to reading it with her again.

Some of the stories do have creative adjustments and a little fictionalization of details but I love that it points every single story to Christ and shows the overall story of salvation in the Bible.

Best kids' Bible out there, in my opinion. Jesus is in every single story. Love it!

I'm in love! !!!! I can't believe a Christian Bible this good exists. The art is beautiful. No pasty white Jesus (or Moses). And the text is a loose re-telling of the Bible as a coherent, unified narrative with everything rightly pointing to Jesus. I'm at a loss for words for how well this was done. Tell your friends. Tell the world.

GREAT bible for kids! Every story points to God's greater story of his son Jesus and his great plan of redemption. Each story is told in a moving way that also uses language kids can understand. The illustrations are beautiful too. My son just turned two and we read him a story from this bible every night and find we are just as engaged as he is. Highly recommend!

We read through this with Jackson this summer at breakfast. We've been reading it for years here and there with Corin and other children, but now that I've read it through, I thought I'd post about it.

What an awesome book. The pictures are beautiful and thoughtful and the lens of Jesus through the whole Bible is so well done. It leaves out more stories than I'd like but there are other children's bibles for that I guess.

This was absolutely gorgeous. Brilliantly written and beautifully illustrated. Had I more stars to give, this book would certainly receive them.

So, I have only begun this book, but LOVE it so far. I think that it is a little old to completely read to my kids right now, but very powerful. I think I will learn as much as my kids will from this. It isn't meant to replace other kids Bibles, and I don't think it should. It seems like a great supplement and worthy addition to our library.

This is a children's Bible, but reading it as an adult for myself was a time of growth and learning.

The theology is so solid. It points to Jesus in every single story, showing that the Bible and the story of humanity is one story that centers around Him and His love for us. Reading Bible stories in this light helped me to see His love and His compassion in in stories that can be hard or confusing; His heart is in all of it.

I am so, so excited that children are learning about Jesus through this book. It is going to be a vessel to create healthy foundations in this generation!
