This book -- sort of a kid's translation of the Bible -- is ridiculously wonderful. I want to give it to everyone I know, grownup or not.

I don't even know how many times I've read this book, but it was great to read straight through aloud to my kids over the last two months. This is a book for all ages, because even as an adult I am able to know Jesus better by seeing him through the eyes of a child.

I don't review a lot of children's material, though I certainly read a lot of it, but this one deserves a few words.

My husband and I have read this almost every night for our son since he was just a few months old. The message of this collection of Bible stories is simple: every story in scripture ultimately points to Christ. It comes to life brilliantly with Jago's simple illustrations (which, side note, also depict the Hebrew people as brown, which is a detail I can't stress enough), and Sally Lloyd-Jones' clear but poetic voice. This collection never feels as though it's talking down to children, but explains Bible concepts in a clear and simple fashion, even presenting a few in ways I've never considered before, and which plenty of adult Christians could benefit from. I daresay I've gotten more out of our nightly devotionals with this work than our son has. That's how good it is, and how important its message is.

We love this one. Words and illustrations.

Read this one to the kids and found it pretty accessible and engaging. The illustrations are great (no European Jesus here) and the super-paraphrase approach tries to build connections and help kids understand faith from Genesis to Revelation.

All the stories in the Bible are really one big story. This is a synopsis of the excellently written "Jesus Storybook Bible."

Sally Lloyd-Jones has penned a book that is as relevant and poignant for toddlers as it is for adults. No easy feat.

The Jesus Storybook Bible is a collection of some of the most well known Bible stories. Unlike most children's books, however, every story relates to God's redemptive plan and the life, death and resurrection of Jesus.

The emphasis is that every (little h) hero points to the (big H) Hero, Jesus Christ.

I appreciated that this book is taken largely from the teachings of Tim Keller. This usually means sound biblical theology as indeed was the case.

The illustrations were fantastic. It was refreshing that the characters had olive or brown skin, as Middle Eastern people do.

Little to fault in this book and this is one I would recommend without hesitation. Whether or not you have children.

Indeed, "every story whispers His name"!

This Bible (meant for kids, as you can tell) is stunning and wonderful and adorable and heartfelt and precious and so, so, so dear. I read straight through the whole thing last evening and was so blown away by the way the stories of the Bible I've read and studied a million times were boiled down into these perfectly told stories that kids could easily understand but adults could also be convicted and stirred by. It's such an incredibly resource, and one I can't wait to share with the kids in my life, as well as re-read to my own self often! To read the scope of the Bible as a true Story like this brings to much of it to life -- I love this.

Just finished reading this Bible to my 6 month old. He obviously doesn't understand anything yet, but we're starting over tomorrow!

Great resource, it moved me to tears a few times. I'm so happy to have this for my boy and for myself.

This is a book of stories from the Bible told in a way that is accessible to both children and adults. Key stories are told in language that is easy to understand, with humor that entertains, and repeated phrases that capture important messages.

Written by Sally Lloyd-Jones and illustrated by Jago, the book engages the reader and tells the main points of the story and always points to Jesus. Each story stays true to the Bible as I understand it from reading the text and listening to many sermons.

Reading aloud the biblical stories alongside beautiful art was a joy for Sophia and me. I loved the time with her and our conversations. If you are curious about Jesus and the Bible, this book is a good place to start. Or if you have read the Bible before and just want another version, this is a good one.

Audrey's aunt gave her this Bible saying that it was the clearest, easiest telling of the gospel. And it totally is. The story of grace is woven through every biblical event and the pictures are beautiful as well. Finished for now but ready to read to my girl over and over again.
