Genuinely such an amazing book that is really insightful. I wish that there was more emphasis on female characters rather than only being there as plot devices for the lead (the plot was really good though).

A powerful and emotional read. Important message about the road to recovery from intergenerational trauma is a long and hard one but it is possible.

very educational story that goes into the history of the canadian government's racism towards indigenous people, how it continues today, and the intergenerational trauma caused by residential "schools" that has continued impacts to this day.
highly recommended.

This should be required reading for all Canadians. It shows how the residential school system has done lasting damage to First Nations people. And how some are working to heal those wounds. The story and the artwork work seamlessly together to tell a very powerful story that is more relevant than ever with the recent tragic news from Kamloops. Read this!
