Unique plotline in which unusual circumstances bring together 2 of the sweetest characters ever written in a romance novel.

For a romance, this book was beautiful, steamy and spicy!

The relationship between Michael and Stella was adorable and his affection for her had me falling in love with them as a couple. This would also be my first read featuring a person who is, in story, diagnosed with autism and I have found myself learning a lot from Stella as a character.

Though this book was spicy, I loved the dynamic they shared as a couple. Most romance novels really make you feel like a fly on the wall, witnessing verbal drawl of intimacy. However, Helen really brought these characters to life with her writing and I felt invested in their relationship. When they were happy, sad, awkward or troubled I felt it with them and the experience of the book was so much more than what I expected.

Definitely will be looking into the other books Helen has written, and if she has made the others just like this one I'm in for a treat!

I am not a fan of contemporary romance usually but this is certainly the best one I've ever read. What I really loved was how relatable the Main Character was as a woman with Autism and how much <Michael loved her for the ways she was unique and not inspite of who she is>. I found the romance believable, funny, and deeply enjoyable. <Michaels family is lovely.> The only things I didn't like were how horrible a lot of the tertiary characters were such as the parents, the coworkers, the ex clients. Those parts were painful to get through and didn't always feel vital to the story or characters development. Also Helen Hoang is really pro-capitalist and I'm never into that though I enjoyed flipping the trope so that the Woman had the money.

Genderbent Pretty Woman??? Autistic representation in the MC??? POC author???  FAKE DATING??? Sign me UPPP!

I never thought a man named Michael could bring me to my knees but I KNEEL CORRECTED!!😩🥵

-5 stars because the SA/Sexual harassment in this book was always brushed under the rug and never fully realized by the mc. I know her autism was a factor in her seeing it differently, but I feel like it was not cleared up enough and didn’t really send a good message. I also didn’t care for the constant mentioning of Michael’s daddy issues with no clear resolution for that either.

"Michael was mint chocolate chip for her. She could try other flavors, but he’d always be her favorite."

I vaguely remember buying a hard copy of this book in an airport and knew a lot of people in the book community recommends it. The cover definitely fooled the naive me and definitely did not expect such a steamy-filled book this is. Also, definitely my fault for not reading the back cover. Nonetheless, I was not disappointed in the slightest.

I love everything in this book: the characters, the steamy scenes, the plot, THE CHARACTERS, definitely Michael and Stella.

Don’t judge the cover literally is what this book is about because the same could be said about these two main characters. They both have flaws on the outside but it’s definitely the insides are what matters. Definitely a must-read for me in the future.
