Asked on Reddit for a cheesy, rom-com, Hallmark, Christmas-y read... and this DELIVERED.

No smut, perfect for Ramadhan. Although this story is set in Christmas 😂 love it!

What to expect: holiday romance, second chance, forced proximity, opposites attract, witty banter

THE BANTER IN THIS BOOK WAS SO GOOD!!! Every conversation they had was so cute. But I don't think they should have gotten engaged; there was clearly a lot of miscommunication and things they needed to work out. They could have just gotten back together, without the engaged part

Oh my god, I loved this.

I literally read this entire story in one sitting. I even had tears in my eyes a few times

I'm not the biggest holiday romance fan, as the cheesy drama-filled romcoms aren't really my cup of tea... This book though, is a fantastic and fun read that left me feeling a little more festive this December. Emergency Contact has so many of the typical tropes that added tension at just the right moments. I wouldn't mind going back into this book for another read this holiday season.

Katherine is a character, especially when it comes to Christmastime, that's when her character most parallels a furry, green Christmas menace known as the Grinch. She's strong-willed and prickly, but mostly she's lonely. She's spent nearly the past decade hating the cheerful and festive winter holiday and the only thing that can make this season hurt just a bit less is making a partner at her law firm. Things don't necessarily go as planned when a car accident leaves Katherine with a concussion and unable to be left alone. A mistake in her paperwork leads her ex-husband, Tom to the hospital room and reluctantly offering to take her home with him for Christmas. But by a stroke of bad luck and a blizzard, going home for the holidays isn't as easy as they would have thought, as they are sent on an adventure neither of them wanted, especially as the final destination is supposed to lead him to proposing to his girlfriend.

Never forget to change your emergency contact when you leave your marriage. That is the lesson Katherine didn't follow when she and her ex Tom split up. Close to Christmas Katherine gets in an accident in New York and the hospital calls Tom. Tom feels obligated to do the right thing though Katherine was not someone he was crazy about seeing again and comes to Katherine's aid. Tom has plans though for Christmas. Plans to propose to his new girlfriend on Christmas Eve. Tom, ever the good guy, can't leave the concussed Katherine alone so he convinces her to fly with him to Chicago to spend Christmas with his family and yes, soon to be fiance. Through several blunders Tom and Katherine slowly make their way to Chicago and in the course of their adventure they start to wonder if their old feelings of love for each other may still be present. The narrators did a great job of moving the story along with voice modulation. I struggled with finding Katherine extremely unlikable and Tom a little crazy for being so drawn to her. Not my favorite love story but an ok romance for Christmas. Thank you to Blackstone Publishing and NetGalley for an advanced copy of the audiobook for an honest review.

I binged this book in one afternoon on audio, it was so silly and so sweet. It won’t be super memorable, but it was still pretty close to perfection. The characters were sweet and lovable, despite their flaws. I had small hangups with some of it but overall it was just sweet and a perfect second chance love story.

Really cute plot line that was intriguing with the flip of the perspective every chapter. It was refreshing to see romance without a focus on sex and a physical relationship

10/10 this book was everything. The bickering, the comedy, the energy ??!!?!???? I mean I felt bad for Lolo and the root of it was communication BUT once you turn off that part of your brain that thinks logically….incredible book LOL. Also the miscommunication part wasn't as annoying as other books where they drag it on. I feel like the dialogue and bickering and comedy helped the pace of it overall.

Literally could not put this book down, it was so so fun to read!!
