I was really excited to see an arc for Scout really exploring her feelings about the breakup and learning how to move on but I felt like it never solidified! Grease Bats was originally published on Autostraddle as a series of slice of life strips, so maybe they're fun to read once in a while, but I never felt like a lot of the really interesting themes this series was setting up ever got resolved.

Also, a lot of comics say really annoying things about how butch lesbians have masculine privilege, which is blatantly not true and is dismissive of the struggles of being gender non-conforming. It's a common train of thought that hurts to hear from your own community! I wouldn't have minded if it had been explored more thoroughly and shot down but, again, portrayed unquestionably.

Overall, I don't think this series is suited for this format.
