A rather marvelous Poirot, if you look at it a second time. The setting is contained while still feeling appealing; the characters are relatively modest in number and all emotionally simple to understand, and yet when Poirot hits upon his final move, you still don't quite get it unless you've been paying attention all along. Really excellent.

I liked the vibes more than the plot itself... which can be great with some other books but not murder mysteries. I read the book in a plane, which was a perfect way to start my own holiday, but I probably would have liked it less in some other setting. Solid Christie quality, the books are never bad, but she is capable of so much more.

Oh look, it's basically Triangle at Rhodes but with a much more over-the-top, convoluted, and frankly unbelievable solution!

It only gets 3 stars because some passages were pure gold, especially Poirot waxing philosophical about people on the beach just basically being hot dogs, and kicking tables in lieu of people who annoy him, and so on.

I really love it! As I do with any Agatha Christie books to be honest but especially this one along with Ackroyd :)

This one kept me guessing. Not my favorite, but a solid mystery.
