The writing of this book was beautiful but I just didn’t connect with the story.
I still recommend as it is beautifully written

I loved this little book!
It is perfect for bus or train commuting!
I keep dreaming of "The Distance of the moon"! I keep dreaming that the moon is close to the Earth -again!- and that I too can visit it!
Such a vivid story! Impressive! A must-read!
The boundless imagination and creativity of Italo Calvino result in a very plausible story (the science behind it is accurate for the time) that will stick with you forever.

A cute little book containing four short stories. Highly imaginative, and written in a very individual style, these stories can seem puzzling at first, before they pull you into their strangely captivating worlds. The title story The Distance of the Moon was my favourite. It is a whimsical tale of a group of people who jump on and off the moon as it hangs low over the sea.

Distance of the Moon -
fucking charming. Illustrative, sad, witty, Collecting moon-cheese as a job. A love square between a man, the woman he loves, the man she loves, and the moon he loves (who seems to cling particularly hard to the main character!) Seriously, just fantastic. Calvino is certainly among my favourite conceptual literary artists, now.
