I will honestly read anything that Llewellyn Publications publishes--and chances are I will love it. I grew up in a pagan household and have always been drawn to the supernatural/occult/magic/whatever, so this book was wonderful. I absolutely loved Sabine's spirit guide, Opal. She helped but didn't directly give advice, as spirit guides are generally portrayed to do. The mystery aspect was a little too easy to figure out for me. I had the ending pretty much figured out within the first two chapters--regardless, it kept me interested and I was able to finish it without much difficulty at all.
On one hand, this was a wonderful easy to read novel that I got through in one sitting with a very interesting subject matter. On the other hand, it was very clearly a young adult book--which I knew getting in--but I wish that someone would write books like this with adult protagonists.
This book is part of the Seer series which is 6 books long. I will be continuing to read the series as I enjoyed this one so much.

Wow, I forgot how much I enjoyed this cute, short read! Sabine Rose is such a well written character! I sometimes have a hard time imagining the main characters of other books as being 16 or 17 because of the way the talk of act. Sabine felt, talked, and acted like a 16 year old to me. It was refreshing and enjoyable to read about her adventures.
I loved Dominic. He was quiet, self-assured and handsome. None of this made him seem unreal to me though. And his ability to
Josh. Josh totally reminded me of the cute, popular, but sweet 16 year old boys I went to high school with. Always seeing the best in people and doing everything they can to help others. Too bad those boys are few and far between. I liked that Sabine had someone, but I wish that it wasn't Josh. He seemed to 'goody goody' for me to really like. Although his and Sabine's relationship it totally credible (by high school standards).
This is one book that I would recommend to younger readers (ages 13-16) because I feel that they would enjoy it more. Don't get me wrong though, adults can enjoy it too. A quick and easy read that you could finish in as little as a couple hours.

speak to animals it just another bonus on his list of great qualities. You have to know that something is going to happen between him and Sabine...which leads me to...Josh. I read this as a kid in french and was delighted to find out that it was in english as well! However i did not quite enjoy it as much as i did the first time, probably because im a lot older now.
The intrigue was fantastic, the romantic relationship... yikes. Still, i will probably continue the series!

This book actually took me a few days to read. It was interesting but there were times where I was like ok can we please get to the more interesting parts? Unfortunately those didn't come until the last quarter of the book, but that last quarter made me want to continue on with the series. So here's hoping the next book keeps going the way the last quarter of this book did then I'd really enjoy this series.

2.5 stars This Kindle freebie was an interesting story but predictable and rushed at times. The teenage high school drama was a bit too much for me. I can see the author has talent and I hope she continues in her craft.

I definitely have been on a kick of YA fantasy/mystery novels. Don't Die, Dragonfly is kind of like a less scary, less intense version of [b:Blue is for Nightmares|477338|Blue is for Nightmares (Blue is for Nightmares, #1)|Laurie Faria Stolarz|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1350054787s/477338.jpg|465559].
Sabine Rose has a dark past that she's been keeping secret from her friends at her new school. She has psychic powers that come to her in images of things that will happen, but don't always make sense. Living with her grandmother (who also has a gift) and going to a new school, Sabine pretends to be normal. Until she begins to sense that a girl with a dragonfly tattoo is in danger. As Sabine begins a new relationship, she must work with Thorn, Manny, and Dominic to get to the bottom of what her visions mean.
Don't Die, Dragonfly was super short. With only 213 pages and a fast-paced plot, I finished the book and immediately wanted more. The plot went along at a fast but reasonable pace. I never felt like it was rushed or lacking in information. While I would have liked more information about what happened at Sabine's old school, I don't think that adding that information would have improved my liking of the book.
The characters were fairly well developed, although it was very clear who was a secondary character and who was a primary character. This book is definitely geared towards the lower end of the YA age group. It follows a perfect plot diagram (like the ones you had to do in grade school when reading a short story/book), but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. I went in hoping that it would be in the same vein of Blue is for Nightmares and my expectations were met. I would definitely recommend this book to fans of Laurie Faria Stolarz and of the Bad Girls Don't Die series.
