I love the Outlander series because I know the books are something I can fall back on when I can’t find anything interesting to read or listen to... or if I am in a reading slump. They never disappoint and this one falls true to that statement. I always listen to these books, and the audio books are phenomenal!
With this book, I did feel confused about Izzy and John Gray’s appearances and disappearances and thought these transitions weren’t fluid. I found myself at times wondering, ‘Where the heck is Bri’s maid?’ and the same for John Gray. But all in all... this is another great addition to the Outlander series.

Another solid installment in the Outlander series.
While books 1-3 focused more on Jamie and Claire, Drums of Autumn is much more of an ensemble book with a large part of the book focusing on Brianna and Roger. Before reading the book I was worried that I would miss Jamie and Claire, but I ended up loving the direction the book takes us in - no longer are we reading about Jamie and Claire, but about their family and the younger generations.
Definitely looking forward to where it goes next!

Phew these are so long but I am thoroughly enjoying each one.
Net geen bouquetreeks, maar de boeken lezen wel prettig. Vooral in een periode wanneer je veel aan je hoofd hebt en geen energie hebt voor hoogstaande literatuur of ingewikkelde boeken.
