Such a big fan of the Outlander series, Diana Gabaldon’s writing is just incredible. I loved how Brianna and Roger’s story takes a bit more of a front seat in this book as they’re my favourite characters in the series. I also love the parallels between Brianna’s story and that of her parents.

I’m very glad I’m really through the series as it has brought me quite a bit of entertainment.
medium-paced

Best series I've ever read.

I know that I shouldn't like these books - and admittedly, they're a little predictable and I frequently roll my eyes and they're not the best things I've ever read. But the story and the characters have sucked me right in and I'll keep reading til the end!

The mixed points of view in this one means that sometimes the characters have a little less room to just be themselves. Since this is usually where Gabaldon brings in her humor, I found that this one lay a little heavier on my heart than I was looking for. I also found Bree and Roger's first night together a little awkward and less than charming, so it doesn't work as well as a touchstone once they become separated.

The further adventures of the Fraser family, extended now to a new generation as Brianna gets her own storyline and the family lands in America. Pirates and great-aunts and Indians, oh my!

This was great, I adored how they went to so many countries. Loved the connections to all of them.
