Definitely my least favourite in the series so far, purely because the first 45% of this book was SO BORING. But the last 55% almost made up for it.

The beginning was a bit slow, but about 1/3 the way in I could not put it down. I liked that everyone was more settled than they had been in Voyager. Brianna and Roger gave me the feels. Lord John is still one of my favorite characters and I loved that he made a reappearance with Willie. Can't wait to des the next one!

Very good, as all books before this one has been in this series. I am constantly surprised at the twists Diana's stories take, and how well she does at weaving the character's lives together in intricate detail. So much so, that I feel a little bit weary after reading. Sometimes the amount of detail put into one single scene lasts so long that I lose myself rather than perfectly picture what she is describing. But of course, I will continue reading to find out what happens!

THIS ONE WAS THE BEST ONE IT WAS SO GOOD WHKDKFKFMFDK IM SO HAPPY JAMIE AND CLAIRE AND BREE ARE TOGETHER<3333 and rodger made me swoon on god

This book took me legit six months to finish. Diana, mon amie, for the love of god edit your books. The same conversation happened at least 362819176 times but I am awarding the fourth installment of Jamie Fraser’s fictionhood three stars for giving us the show (minus two for Brianna)

Invested in the series, but less engaged in the books themselves as they continue. Never loved Brianna or Roger, but came to really hate Roger. Roger was always a bit misogynistic in the books but throwing him into the past allowed that to run rampant with toxic outcomes. A very unlikeable foil to Jamie's unlikely 18thC feminist. At just under 1000 pages and the next 1500, it's not worth the time invested to keep reading over other books. Will maybe pick back up on audio when I have more time.

guilty pleasure. can't stop!

These books get less interesting and less compelling the farther into the series you get.

this is going to be one of my favorite in this series i can already tell. i loved it so much. it was literally everything i’ve been waiting for
