This short, heartwarming story of a monster cafe is exactly what I needed to read right now. I loved the characters and would love to see a longer book set in the same world.

This was so fun and cosy! Enjoyed it a lot, wouldn't mind more of this~
In this one we have a drider named Gwen (I had to look up what a drider was) who wants something else than fighting and being a guard. She wants to start a café! She has zero experience and we can see that when things open up. At times I was scratching my head, I would have researched things, but she didn't. But she doesn't give up even though she does want to at times. It helps that she has people around her (though I wasn't a fan of that grumpy girl at first) who help her out and cheer her up. I loved seeing the café grow and grow and get more and more popular. Next to Gwen, my favourite would be the minotaur lady, I wouldn't mind reading a story with her as MC!
All in all, this was a supercosy and fun read. I would recommend it!

A spider opening up a cozy cafe and building a found family along the way. It was giving James and the Giant Peach vibes and I need this story made into a stop motion animation short film now. 🥹

Um, I’ve never read a story with a drider in it, and when I googled it, I’m glad I haven’t (picture spider body with 8 legs and 6 arms) because this creature is scary! However, thankfully this is light and cozy with nary a scary thing to it at all.

So, come on over to visit a magically shielded place called Embervain, a fantastical place full of monsters and creatures who freely live apart from humans. I promise, they’re all nice with a bonus of two really cute minotaur kids that make an appearance.

Written well but way shorter and simpler than Legends and Lattes, this follows Gwen the aforementioned drider, trying to fulfill her dream of opening up a cafe. Hence, if you really liked the former and wanted something similar then I think you can’t go wrong! Enjoy!
