I feel almost guilty giving Demon Copperhead only 4 stars when everyone else I know has declared it as pure brilliance. The first half of the book was amazing but then it unfortunately seemed to lose It’s way.

I enjoyed the first half more than the second, mostly because it just seemed to go a little too long. Not to say that I feel like the story itself should have been shorter. Everything in it felt needed. 

I really enjoyed the approach to challenging stereotypes: it doesn’t so much reverse those stereotypes but explains and adds depth to them.
