The real monsters are haunting
i love lesbians, i love museums, i love haunted house books. you would think this would be perfect for me, but it is inconsistently paced, has a twist in the end that felt unearned, and the relationship coming together wasn't as satisfying as i would have liked. but i don't regret reading it
This was a terrific gothic novel, with its undercurrent of paranoia and fear emanating from multiple characters, the looming presence of the taxidermied animals, and the outside threat presented by the Luftwaffe. Recommended reading!
