A book that should be read in every decade of life starting in your 20s. It’s a great reminder to find the positive and let the little things go.
fast-paced
informative
reflective
medium-paced
Not great as an audio book, because there are a lot of unconnected thoughts.
Repeated info. Again and again. There Is a bunch of good things but the repetition makes it dull
This book gave me a lot to think about when it comes to overcoming wasting so much energy over minute matters. Everything shouldn't be a big deal, but I am guilty of taking on too much emotional drama and being very overwhelmed afterward. I am definitely going to practice some of the things I learned from this book.
I feel like I need to reread 100 more times until I get it all
Finally decided to pick this book up as a quick read and it's definitely a good reminder of little things that I can do to improve my happiness and well-being. I would say that most everything is intuitive, but nonetheless each is an important reminder.
I read the kindle addition, I am buying a paper edition to leave permanently at my workplace. Highly recommended for anyone who ever has to interact with another human being.
Rereading this, I felt like I only agreed with half. I believe very much in helping others, letting go of little things but it also seemed to gloss over the fact that there is enjoyment in little things. Also it seemed to almost admonish someone for any kind of personal power. Sure we shouldn't lord power over people, but we definitely shouldn't become the world's doormat either.
This is everything the last audio book I listened to, wasn’t. It taught me so much about how to be more patient, to be more mindful, and to be more selfless. The way this book is set up is by listing things to help you not sweat the small stuff. It was easy to listen to and I appreciated the small snippets of the author’s life mixed in. I didn’t realize until after I started, that this book was written in the 90s and the only reason I could tell was because there were parts where he definitely should have brought up computers or cellphones but never did!! But nonetheless, there is still timeless knowledge in this book and it’s super beneficial to anyone who wants to start reading self-help books!
