Up until like 25% in I was afraid and thought "damn, this Juliette is as whiny as before", but after that it got more interesting, and at the end she kinda redeemed herself imo (FINALLY). Enjoyed it muuuuuch more than the first book! And omg this love triangle! I know who I‘m rooting for tho tehehehe

Ok so I get the hype. 3.5 for sure! The only reason it didn’t make it to 4 is because the first 200 pages or so were a drag. Then Aaron entered the chat and I went from dozing off every 5 seconds to GRIPPING THE PAGES. after that the rest of the book is easily a 4 no doubt.
Juliette is a weak main character. And I get it she’s supposed to be this insecure girl who’s always un sure of herself. And I think her getting shot is supposed to be her turning point or whatever. But geez it took her two whole books and a gun for her to get a damn grip.
Two characters are kidnapped and SHE HAD ONE JOB. to interrogate Aaron into figuring out where they went. Instead of asking this man where they are, she asking him about the tattoos on his body. And lowkey flirting with him. bae thinks she on a date. MEANWHILE, poor Brenden and Winston are being tortured. She’s really just an Elena Gilbert wannabe.
Again, round of applause for Kenji. THE ONLY SANE CHARACTER IN THESE DAMN BOOKS. and the only one who attempts to humble Juliette.
