Getting into the action more in this one and that makes me happy. While the poetic style writing is not my personal favourite, the story and the plot line do start to pick up in this book, and I can appreciate the development. I do look forward to the next in the series!

Read that shit so fast, mainly cause it felt like I was reading the same sentence over and over for about 300 pages (hence the 3 stars)

Also Stockholm syndrome really popped of in this (?)

this shit was crazy omg. I can't... Adam.. Warner... Anderson?! like not expecting that at all and definitely not expecting powers for Warner but it also was kind of a given when he touched Juliette. imma need Juliette to get herself together cause I can't defend her any longer for not choosing Warner 😭😭😭😭 either pick or stop leading them onnnnn..... anyways

I’ve accepted that misunderstood villains are another one of my weaknesses.

Because W a r n e r ❤️

Unravel Me is the second book in the Shatter Me series. Juliette, Adam and Kenji are staying at Omega Point, a facility where they will learn to use their unique gifts in benefiting their dying world. With Warner and the Reestablishment on the hunt for Juliette, she’ll have to be prepared for the war that is on the horizon.

Tahereh Mafi’s writing style is really different from any other I’ve read. Juliette’s character, evidently having such a cracked and fractured mind, really opened the author up to endless possibility when examining her person further. The way Juliette’s thoughts flow across the page in an almost frantic way is truly enthralling.

The plot, taking place in mainly Omega Point, was gripping in a way that the first book wasn’t. I can’t say for certain which book I enjoyed further in terms of the events that took place, though the characters and their decisions are what put Unravel Me underneath Shatter Me.

Kenji really stood out in this book. It was heartwarming to see what a vital figure he’d become to everyone at Omega Point. The adults and children who look up to him with hope and love in their eyes. Seeing how much he cared for everyone was fantastic, the humor Kenji brings to lighten the story is always lovely.

Adam was beginning to get more annoying as things progressed for obvious reasons. I was frustrated with the way he decided to go about the discovery of his power. The decision to continue to cling to Juliette, despite knowing that pressuring her would surely get her to cave.

Juliette might have been the reason that this book was not a four star read. I couldn’t fathom the fact that she continuously did things mindlessly, not thinking about the consequences until the damage was done. Then after screwing with everyone’s lives, nearly killing a large potion of Omega Point, she has the mind to feel sorry for herself. I tried to look past a of her choices, but a few things stuck with me the entire book.

~ ★ ~ The knowledge that Juliette almost destroyed all of Omega Point after seeing Adam being tested. She didn’t ask anyone what was going on. Didn’t think to question why Castle was doing what he was doing to Adam. Juliette assumes he’s being tortured, and blinded by rage almost collapsed the entire building.

~ ★ ~ The fact that Juliette knows she would hurt Adam by touching him. All it took was a little please from Kent before she decides to smother him, thus getting Mr. Lovesick sent to the medical wing. (This was both Ferrars and Kent’s recklessness combined)

~ ★ ~ Juliette having the audacity to let Warner kiss her, actually wanting him to do so, then saying Adam’s name. Letting Warner completely lose his mind over the love she knew he had for her. I couldn’t believe that Juliette ran out of that room thinking she was so in love with Adam after letting Warner go to such lengths with her. Juliette was reckless enough to touch him, want him, let him have her, only to pull away the next minute.

This brings me to my lovely boy Warner. I can’t get enough of his character, especially after having read his novella, Destroy Me. I find that often misunderstood characters have a special place in my heart. It kills me to know that deep down they don’t have to be the villain, that no one recognizes the little bit of goodness they do have.

Warner was the one that I cared for the most this book. Him and Kenji at that. Warner’s character definitely seemed the most mysterious, I loved getting to know about his tattoos and love of reading. It makes me think that there is still so much we have to learn about his past, and I can’t wait to get more of his character in the rest of this series.

Learning that Warner and Adam are brothers was slightly shocking. Mostly because I can’t picture them ever getting along, especially since Adam pointed out he never plans to even inform Warner of the news. That’s fine by me.

This book was still really enjoyable and easy to get through despite the few issues I had with Juliette and Adam. I have hope that Warner, Kenji and James can save the rest of this series for me, as I’m sure there is still much more to happen.

i love kenji

Goodness do I love this series. It keeps getting better and better with each book. I'm Team Warner all the way man. Gosh I love it. Character development was excellent. Kenji remains one of my all time favorite side characters. Kenji you have made it up their with Finnick and Uriah. Adam is still whiney and annoying. He acts like he is the only one who has it rough. I want to shake him half the time. Overall I loved it and I can't wait to read the last book!
