It took a bit to get into this, it might be because of the large number of romantasy books I've read recently. But suddenly, it was intriguing. The magic system was fun and different, I loved the pirate vibes. It was very Davy Jones / Will Turner Captain of the Flying Dutchman. The romance was a little strong, the sex scenes felt a little overdone, and I usually have zero issues with smut. There were just a few phrases that were very skippable to avoid the ick. It ends on a big cliffhanger, but luckily book 2 is available! Side note, Erik is super morally gray, possessive and will burn the world for his love. 😍

This was my first foray into Romantasy, and I was thoroughly surprised by how much I enjoyed this! It is still in the realm of fantasy, with a little more spice than I usually get in the books I read. The spicy scenes were not completely explicit, which was nice. I think Andrews handled it nicely, without being too vulgar. Aside from that, I thought the story didn't spend too much time moving on to the next thing, making this a fast read. I was worried it was too fast for two books worth of info, but I found out there's 4 Ever King books so the info can be spread out a bit which is nice. I enjoyed the characters, I liked Erik and Livia, and their friends on each side. I am glad Erik didn't take too long to warm up to Livia so he didn't spend the whole book brooding. He is a sweet guy, and thankfully, Livia didn't have to dig that deep to get there.

I enjoyed the little twists and the lore about the Ever Kingdom, and hopefully we get to see a little more of that and the Earth Fae. Definitely excited to see where the second book picks up!

It took me a while to get into this book. But once I did, I really enjoyed it! Let's be honest, it wasn't going to be hard to sell me on a fae pirates romantasy based on Hades and Persephone.

The world building was really good, and the characters were likable. Other than the setting, I wouldn't say much about these characters jumped out and made them particularly original. They were interesting, but felt very similar to other characters in other books of similar genres.

This was so fun! A captivating world with pirates, sea fae, magic, and an entertaining enemies to lovers romance.

It starts out promising but then falls apart in the last third. The emotional conflict was a lot more compelling before a major twist. The reveal that Livia’s parents were not, in fact, the ones who tortured Erik and that actually they tried to save his life makes his entire motivation in the first third of the book make no damn sense. It really ruined the whole book for me.

The world was cool, and I really liked the siren pirate lady. However, the fumbling of the ending means I won’t be continuing this series
