A nice start to one of the greatest Batman runs in history. A nice mystery showing how the rich control how the world works with no consideration and sometimes revulsion to everyone else. Snyder is great at integrating real history and facts into his own fabricated one. Unlike many writers Snyder leaves Batman beaten and bloody instead of the "Batgod" who is always ahead and untouchable. Capullo is one of the greatest comic artists of our time having a great blend between realism and stylistic symbolism.

Man, am I sick of owls...
I kind of expected more from this. I mean, you only hear wonders from everyone, you expect something great. It was just ok. Batman is not really my cup of tea, he is always so dark and intense and everything is so dramatic that I think he could do with a bit of humor. Being as this is a reboot, I think it works fairly ok to show new readers who is who. I don't know much about the backstory of Grayson but I don't really need to know more right now. Plus, this a Batman story. The problem is I didn't care much about the freaking Court of Owls. Secret societies acting like pyschos without a reason bore me.
But if there's something I really like was Batman's inner monologues about the city and stuff.
So I'll just wait until we get rid of the owl story and hope it gets to more interesting stories.

Amazing art. Solid story. Dark mystery bordering on psychological horror at points. Dope af.
