While I don't generally like romance, books that is, I love these historical romances. Perhaps I've convinced myself it's literature because it's historical. Either way, Jamie Frasier is amazing and the story is really good too. It's a lengthy book, but well worth the time. I think I'll re-read this summer.

Interesting reread. Took one star away only for that specific scene where she instantly cured a character’s sexual trauma with triggers and re-traumatization. I was already being nice about the countless sexual assault scenes and how casually sexual harassment by absolutely every male character was handled but THAT scene really took the prize. Even in those peak dudebros male fantasy series I’ve never seen such thing. Disgusting, I hope she knows better by now

LOVE. It literally has everything: action, romance, mysticism, hot Scottish MMC, fierce FMC, strong villain, memorable side characters, good banter. Is it fairly long? Yes, but a lot of a good thing is a good thing. The setting is prefect and the writing is great. At different times the story is thrilling, heart breaking, dark, and funny. It does get a bit dark with details about torture and sexual assault, so that’s something to be aware of. Overall, I consider this book a strong 5 star queen.

I thought I would love this...time travel plus historical fiction. Many people I know TOLD me I would love it. At times there were flashes of loving it, but mostly I could not wait for it to be over. It was more of what I think a harlequin romance novel would be like than anything. I'm glad this was a free read on the Kindle. There are still some questions in my mind (like what was the meaning of Jamie's appearance in modern time at the very beginning of the novel?). They are not compelling enough to keep me reading the series though.
Dnf because of the alluding to rape and I thought I’d be okay to read but alas not. Overall the book was pretty alright though and if not for that element I’d give it 4 stars.
