This was a book dropped off in my Reader's Garden Library charter number 156200. I picked it up to try and enjoyed the book. I never knew someone could endure so much in their life. The pictures of the artwork Frida created give insight into her life and struggles.

I love this biography, start to finish. Frida amazes me, and the breadth of this book is astonishing.

I knew nothing about Frida before reading this book and I'm so happy I got to read her fascinating story. What a strong woman. The end dragged on a bit which is why I'm only giving it 4 stars. Her life was so varied and tumultuous at times, parts made me very sad and parts made me laugh. The author kept me intrigued (until the end) and I liked how she tied in her paintings and what they meant in Frida's life.

I appreciate having a biography of Frida Kahlo available as an audiobook in English. But the author's interpretations of Kahlo's life and work are frequently abelist and/or sexist, which is obviously a problem given the subject matter.
