Good book once it got started. THis is the follow up to Beautiful Lies, but Unger spent 1/3 of the novel re-telling that story. Still, a good mystery for all that. I want to read more by Unger.

A solid follow up to Beautiful Lies. As the story moves along, the the mystery burrows deeper and the action intensifies. The cutting back and forth between memory and sequences within the current time line add depth of consequence and perspective.

This book was definitely a shocker...after enjoying Beautiful Lies I was looking forward to continuing Ridley's story. The character is so engaging and I immediately felt connected to her and interested in the plot. Without giving away the best parts of the book I'll simply say that I definitely did not predict the ending and enjoyed the ride getting there!

I didn't get the ending that I expected but it was a great book. The character involved you in the book and kept you wanting to read and find out more. It was like an old friend talking to you and discussing their day. I enjoyed it.

Ridley is absolutely the dumbest person in the world in this book.

Not as good as the first in the series (Beautiful Lies) but still a page-turning read. This time the plot lines are rather over the top and distinctly dodgy on occasions which is a shame, and the ending is a let-down. However, it's still worth reading due to the strong voice and interesting life of the main character, Ridley Jones. Not sure I need a third in this series though ...

This is the follow-up to Lisa Unger's first novel, Beautiful Lies. I absolutely loved Beautiful Lies. It was fast-paced, the plot was intriguing, the ending was good and the characters were interesting, relatable and complex. This book was good but not quite as good as the first one. The plot sort of explodes onward from where it left off in Beautiful Lies and becomes a little bit unruly. Also, the book was a little heavy on the foreshadowing of future plot points. That said, it was very enjoyable to read and I zipped through it very quickly. I just picked up her third book, Black Out, which is not a continuation of the first two, and am looking forward to reading it.
