Nice collection of stories from across the globe. Most of the stories have to do with marriage, making the collection nicely themed. The stories that are chosen are usually lesser known variants or simply lesser known types. There is an Native American version of Hansel and Gretel. Perhaps the most famous is the Finnish version of "The Companion". I like the fact that McLaughlin didn't use Cinderella in this collection. Loved the fact that it was lesser known tales - most of which I hadn't read before. Well worth reading.
