Copy received for an honest review - thank you.

I have to admit - I have had a couple of the X-Treme boys books on my kindle for what seems like forever, but Snow Boy is the first that I have read.

And now I am going to have to go back and start from the beginning, because I absolutely enjoyed Snow Boy.

As I haven't read the previous books, I am not sure why I am supposed to have a love/hate relationship with Geneva, but I have to say I pretty much adored her in Snow Boy.

I could feel that she wants to be a better person, wants to move on from mistakes she has made in her life.

And every woman needs a snow boy like Berk in their life.

I loved how she brought him back to life again after events in his life. My heart broke for him as I learned more of his past, and soared as we could see the changes she brings out in him.

The secondary characters are wonderful, and I will go back and read their books to get the most out of their stories.

Snow Boy does end on a cliffhanger, but there is not too long a await until My Snow Boy comes out, so I will just have to patiently wait for it.

This book was AMAZEBALLS!!! Kay created such a beautiful love story between two complete strangers that literally left me wanting more. Not to mention that jaw dropping ending! I can't say much because I don't want to give anything away, but if you're looking for one steamy as hell read, grab this bad boy!

I had heard great things about this series, so when the opportunity to review this book came, I took it. Plus, the blurb is very well-written and gives the idea of a very intriguing story.

So, here I am, about to write a review on this novel. It’s little perplexed about this one, to be honest. And here’s why:

First of all, the book is indeed well-written. No questions asked about it. The story has a nice flow and it centers on great characters who are very different from each other -in many ways. I was intrigued by the story and I definitely want to read the ending of Geneva and Berk.

But there are many things I loved about it and many things that didn’t feel right to me.

For one, the characters were well-developed and the author has created beautiful details about them, like the story about Berk’s name! I enjoyed those details, because they shone a different light on the characters and made the story more vibrant.

So, they were well-developed, but I just didn’t feel connected to them. It was like reading about their story but not being part of it. I felt like an outsider who was seeing everything but not actually living it. I liked Geneva and her ambiguous personality, because we all have many sides; we’re not confident all the time, we’re not sweet all the time, etc. I enjoyed how her one side blended into the other. Berk...He’s ambiguous, too. He has his issues that are a lot, I may add. He has this mysterious aura around him, but he is so honest at the same time. But I didn’t love-love him.

The story was intriguing, like I said. The characters’ backgrounds made it more interesting rather than where the story was actually heading. It was like two very interesting and different rivers of events met at a not-so-original place. I’m not saying it was dull. Not at all. It’s just that I was expecting more, because the characters were so cleverly created and their backgrounds were so unique.

Then, there’s the ending… On the one hand, I liked the twist, the subtle innuendos throughout the book that led to it and I agree with Geneva’s decision, and I actually felt like she found her strength in her own weak moment. She was crushed and hurt, but still found the strength to do what was right for her. So, I did a High-5 there! But then, the other thing comes up and the original, intriguing twist becomes not so original.

I am so confused about how to express my opinion and emotions about this book, because I want my words to reflect the truth but at the same time stay kind and objective. It’s true that I have high expectations of the books I read from now on. I want to read something spectacular, something that will stay with me, something that is more than the usual, typical stories and sexy scenes. So, my not so bright review could be due to this fact, because this book has very high rates on both Goodreads and Amazon -as does the entire series. So, maybe it’s just me. But this story could be more…

In the end, Snow Boy receives a 4- because it was well-written, with great characters.
