I enjoyed this book, although the writing style is extremely dated. It is written as a serial or nearly short stories. Some of the same characters appear in every story and they're all written within the same world at different times.

I wish I had read this in high school or college. So many popular culture topics have been inspired by this book. In the first chapter, the positronic brain is introduced. I thought, "Hm, same as the fictional one from Star Trek? Let me look it up to see what it meant here.." only to find out that Asimov invented the term and idea.

I also understood some Futurama references and laughed at Asimov predicting Machine Learning very similar to what we use now (with similar ramifications and issues).

I took off one star since some of the stories were boring/dragged on; I imagine there are some people who recommend skipping certain stories.

3.5 stars. My first Asimov! It is incredible that this book was originally published in the mid 20th century! This short story collection didn't consistently hold my attention throughout.

Fullfills "classic of genre literature" task for the Book Riot Read Harder 2018 challenge.

A really cool exploration of Asimov's conception of the three laws of robotics. The book is told a series of interesting short stories. Quick read, really important part of a wholistic sci-fi repertoire.
