So awesome. I love it when Simon Snow and his boyfriend are superheroes. Go comics!!

I didn't like this one as much as many other readers seem to - it was pretty hard to follow having almost no knowledge of any of the team members (save Loki, who steals the show as he is wont to do). Like, I'm still not sure who Miss America is? Or Marvel Boy? Or Kate Bishop? It was ok - +1 star for the diversity though, that was awesome. 3 stars.

Este es mi primer cómic y me encanto, lo disfrute demasiado! Ahora veo un nuevo futuro como una lectora de cómics!!!

This first volume in the Young Avengers series was so much fun to read, especially the brilliant cast of characters. I loved all of the characters in this volume especially Loki, I think we all have a soft spot for him. Before reading this I didn't realise it would be a continuation of the original Young Avengers series and having not read the original series I feel like I have missed out on a lot of the characters' backgrounds, especially Billy and Teddy. But, by no means does that mean that you can't read this series without having read the original ones because the series is completely its own and stands by itself.

I loved the dialogue between the team, it was so witty and funny and just really well written. I feel like the dynamic of a group of teenagers was captured really well but also at the same time, you could see the dynamic of a group of superheroes. The artwork is incredible and is so detailed, I absolutely loved it, I would make sure to be thorough with every single frame so I didn't miss a single detail.

The plot of this series sounds so bizarre especially when you find out who the villain is but it is just so clever and smart and played out so well. I really, really enjoyed this and cannot wait to start the second volume.

Okay, I was curious about the Young Avengers, given that it seems very likely that they could make an MCU appearance sometime in the future. And this series was recommend in a list, so it seemed like it was right up my alley! I am so happy to say it didn't disappoint. While yes, as true to any Marvel series, there were things I didn't get because I didn't read all the possible issues leading up to this. But I loved the characters, and seriously hope they get some screen time. I would totally watch it!

I only read this b/c I love Gillen and McKelvin's Phonogram so much! Also the Bryan Lee O'Malley cover hooked me. I will say, this works really well as an introductory volume--I was only familiar with one of the characters (Kate Bishop) but felt like I understood enough of everyone's backstory for it to make sense. The overarching plot is fine and I like the art, it's just not really enough to make me interested in reading more of these superheroes. I'm not particularly interested in superheroes though.

Somehow, I’ve been a Young Avengers stan for 5 years and never actually read the beginning of this run. Shocker: it’s as incredible as the rest. I love these characters so much!!! Aghhh!!!
