4.13 AVERAGE

Slow Start, awesome finish. Many mysteries left unsolved. Can't wait for next volume.

Not quite as great as Ms. Marvel / Batgirl of Burnside / Lumberjanes, but nearly there. It helps to have a wee bit of an idea who each of the individual Young Avengers are, but the great art, witty writing and fun adventures easily overpowers any resistance. The heavy GLBTQ presence is also a nice treat, especially since it's a complete non-issue - several of the characters just are and that's that. Very progressive and encouraging

I really wanted to give this four stars- the art is great, the plot was really solid, it all came together really well- but I just didn't end up connecting with it for some reason. I can't quite put my finger on what was wrong, but in the end, I just didn't get sucked in. So three stars it is (though I'd give it three and a half if I could).

This was fun.

My current favorite comic. Gah. When I read the first issue I was just stupidly excited, between the fantastic art, the relevant pop culture references, the humor, the realistic teen voices, the tumblr stand-in recaps...

It also isn't a bad jumping in point for someone new to comics (I recently gifted it to a friend who wanted to read a young adult comic), even though there is SOME backstory that would make it make more sense. (And I've read both the previous Young Avengers as well as Kid Loki's Journey Into Mystery run.)

I adored Kieron Gillen already, and I think that this book really plays to his strengths. The first story arc is interesting and very appropriate to older teens. The Young Avengers are young adults now, and this is about them growing up.

I love love LOVE THIS!

Oh my goodness I'm so happy that everyone recommended that I read this for the #GetGraphic readathon! It is truly one of my new favourite comic book series EVER just based off of this 1st volume!

Though I had no previous experience of reading any of these characters excluding Kate Bishop - I instantly fell in love with them, they are my babies omg!

I also ADORE the art style and the writing!

If you love The Wicked + The Divine Series, I think you'd love this because the creators of that series wrote and did the art work for this one (although this is definitely more PG).

I loved this and I wish this series would go on forever!

Enjoyable, beautifully drawn, I wish it was longer and more intimate.

I liked the graphics but I feel like it tried a bit too hard to be current and ~hip at times.

A little corny in some points, but hella cool and I love everyone.

Surprising. I'm really kind of digging on this. The art style is great, the writing is fairly gripping. It's a bit like watching a CW series, but one of the good ones. Yes, I count Arrow and Supernatural among them, so use that to weigh my opinion).
