Kate Bishop is better than you. This book is right up there with Matt Fraction's Hawkeye for me in terms of writing, characterization, and amazing and inventive art.

Y'ALL THIS IS DEFINITELY ONE OF MARVEl'S BETTER COMICS, I LOVED IT SO MUCH AND IT WAS BETTER THAN EXPECTED!! reasons to read this series:

- diversity! lots and lots of it. the main characters (wiccan and hulkling) are both gay and in an adorable relationship, there's lots of poc characters and other queer characters
- it's funny! it made me laugh out loud many times. honestly, the best comics are the ones that make you laugh.
- the art is BEAUTIFUL. some of the character designs of these characters ,, i haven't liked them much. but these are all so well done! mckelvie did an awesome job.
- the plot... will grow on you. this is the first volume, so it seems a little stretched out at first, but everything makes sense. eventually. but kieron gillen is one of my favourite marvel writers, and i loved his arc in journey of mystery. (which you should also read.)
- kid loki!! i'd be lying if i said that one of the main reasons i picked up this book was not because of loki. i just,,, i love him so much. and kid loki is! amazing! he also has a love for bacon that i understand and can relate to.

tl;dr: if you're a fan of the marvel comics, definitely read this series! it's full of quips and action and good art. if you've just seen the movies, still give it a try! you might be a bit confused at times, but hey, google it up.

During a recent sale on ComiXology, I downloaded some comics based solely on the fact that some of my favorite artists had drawn them. This book was one of those, as I've always loved Jamie McKelvie's art from the first time I'd seen it.

This one was a fun little romp through a somewhat lesser known part of the Marvel Universe, though I'm pretty sure it probably became a hit due to the creators involved.

This was an origin story of sorts, a sort of genesis story, in that as soon the team got all the kinks worked out and was ready to rock and roll, the story ended. It was a lot of fun to read, but it left you feeling that the true potential of the story of the matching up of this group of characters had yet to be explored.

As said above, though, the artwork was fantastic, in my opinion. Jamie McKelvie has just got a great style. As expected, the book perfectly delivered there.

I recommend this to fans of the creators involved and maybe to those who would want to bust out the extra dough to see where these characters end up next.

*-I read this book as digitally downloaded issues of Young Avengers #s 1-5 and Marvel Now! Point One (Young Avengers story)

This story isn't for me. I didn't enjoy the story or characters. The reason I'm giving it three stars is solely for the artwork. McKelvie is one of my favourite comic book artist. His artwork is gorgeous.

And now a year later I am finally re-reading this so I can continue the trilogy.
I didn't love this as much as I did the last time, everything happened very quickly and with little explanation but I definitely still recommend it!

I'm loving this lgbt representation, Billy and Teddy are just adorable. ALSO CAN I TALK ABOUT NOH-VARRRRRRR HE’S SO GREAT WHY AREN'T THERE MORE ALIENS LIKE HIM HANGING AROUND THESE DAYS?

I loved this, it was so fun. This was a very relaxing and entertaining volume and I can’t wait to read the next one!

Okay this is exactly what I wanted in a comic book. The perfect balance of action and character development and a clear picture of the story arc. I found myself loving each and every one of these characters (with the possible exception of Loki, the jury's still out on that one). The villain is strange and intriguing. Also that art is perfect. I just loved everything about this and I want to read more.

"I have no powers and not nearly enough training, but I'm doing this anyways. Being a super hero is amazing. Everyone should try it."

One of my absolutely favorite comics ever. I love everything about it: the art work, the characters, and their relationships, the plot.
Im a very charactergiven person and this is a very character driven comic (which doesnt work for everybody, i know), and its diverse set of characters fit together in ways i will never get over.

Oh man this was good, I need moe of these characters and this universe.

Young Avengers is a delight. Pure and simple. The artwork is mostly Marvel House style with a few briliant exceptions but these characters are wonderful and refreshing. Wiccan and Hulkling are the best young gay couple I've ever read in comics, Kate Bishop is grounded in the same awesomeness as the Hawkeye comics, Kid Loki is little kid sinister in the best of ways and Miss America is Donald Trump's worst nightmare, a superpowered, lesbian, Latina woman representing the best of what America stands for. I loved every page of this title.
