Kennedy Ryan has the ability to write about grief in such a gorgeous way. I loved every aspect of this book. I love the women relationships within this book!

I get very uneasy about certain *scenes* in romance audiobooks

Woah! If you are fan of the emotional turmoil that Colleen Hoover puts us through, you’ll enjoy this book! This book was a roller coaster of emotions and had me all over the place! I cried some and laughed some more. Such a powerful story of love, redemption, forgiveness and reconciliation (or not). Phenomenal book! And brownie points because I could see myself in so many of the characters and understand the little cultural nuances of this Black Love/Hate Story!

This is one of the best books I’ve read in a long time. Beautifully written characters. Realistic storylines. I can’t wait to continue reading more in depth stories from some of the supporting characters.

This book has been on my TBR for a long time, and I am so glad I finally read it! It was a beautiful story about love, loss, grief, forgiveness, and second chances. I love the message that it is okay to not be okay, and that sometimes we all need help getting through the difficult seasons of our lives.

4.5 ⭐️ Overall this is an amazingly well-written story with so many layers. Yasmen and Josiah’s characters were well developed and I was really rooting for them. I found myself relating to many different parts of their journey, specifically the topics of grief, trauma, and therapy. I loved the banter between all the characters and Kennedy Ryan’s writing/story-telling is beautiful. I felt lots of feelings and she still had me laughing in some places. However, the book just felt a little long for me and it wasn’t as “hard to put down” as I would have liked it to be.

This is my first book by Kennedy Ryan. She weaves heavy topics along with romance. Loved it. It is spicy especially by audiobook. lol.
